PEMANFAATAN MINYAK BUAH MERAH, Pandanus conoideus Lam DAN CAROPHYLL PINK DALAM RANSUM PAKAN YUWANA IKAN KAKAP MERAH, Lutjanus sebae

Abstract


Ikan kakap merah, Lutjanus sebae termasuk komoditas budidaya yang banyak diminati konsumen. Kualitas benih untuk pembesaran selain ditentukan dari ukuran dan performansi fisik, juga berdasarkan warna ikan. Dalam penelitian ini telah dilakukan 4 perlakuan pakan yang diperkaya dengan Minyak Buah Merah (MBM) dan Carophyll Pink (CP) yaitu: (A) 10 mL MBM/kg pakan; (B) 10 mL MBM+1,4 g CP/kg pakan; (C) 1,4 g CP/kg pakan, dan (D) Kontrol. Hewan uji adalah yuwana kakap merah dengan rata-rata panjang dan bobot tubuh awal 11,32±0,76 cm dan 37,56±7,22 g. Ikan ditempatkan dalam bak fiber kapasitas 5 m3 dengan kepadatan 200 ekor/bak dan diberi pakan 2 kali sehari secara ad libitum serta dipelihara selama 2 bulan dengan pergantian air 200%-300%/hari. Kualitas yuwana diamati pada akhir penelitian melalui pengukuran panjang dan bobot tubuh, sedangkan performansi warna diamati dengan kamera digital dan dianalisis secara diskriptif menggunakan Microsoft Adobe Photoshop 8. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa MBM dan CP dapat dimanfaatkan dalam ransum pakan guna meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan performansi warna yuwana kakap merah. Pakan yang mengandung 10 mL MBM+1,4 g CP menghasilkan sintasan 94%, kenaikan pertumbuhan panjang dan bobot mutlak 58,92% dan 281%, konversi pakan 0,82 serta performansi yuwana berwarna merah cerah dengan nilai persentase rata-rata sebesar 89,58%±0,07%.

Red emperor snapper, Lutjanus sebae is one of high demanded cultured fishes. The quality of seeds does not only depend on size and performance of fish, but also depends on fish color. A feeding experiment was conducted during two-months period by adding red fruit oil (RFO) and carophyll pink (CP) to every kilogram of pellet fed as the treatment i.e. (A) 10 mL RFO/kg feed; (B) 10 mL RFO+1.4 g CP/kg feed; (C) 1.4 g CP /kg feed and (D) Control. Two hundred seeds with initial total length of 11.32±0.76 cm and 37.56±7.22 g of body weight were stocked in a fiber glass tank of 5 m3. Feeding frequency was twice a day and water exchanged was around 200%-300%/day. The seed quality was observed at the end of the experiment. Growth data analyses were done using Microsoft® Excel software and color performance was recorded using a digital camera and color analyses were conducted using Microsoft Adobe Photoshop 8. The results showed that the RFO and CP had a significant role in increasing the growth and performance of red snapper seeds. 10 ml of RFO + 1.4 g CP gave the best growth performance with 94% for survival rate, 58.92% for total length and 281% for body weight gain, feed conversion ratio was 0.82 respectively, and fish had brighter red color which was counted for 89.58%±0.07% from the total population.
