PERCOBAAN PENANGKAPAN IKAN KARANG DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN FYKE NET MODIFIKASI DI PERAIRAN SELAYAR
Abstract
Fyke net umumnya dioperasikan di sungai dan danau memerangkap ikan yang tergiring oleh jaring pemandu disaat ikan berusaha berenang melawan arus. Fyke net yang dioperasikan di terumbu karang disesuaikan dengan sifat ikan yang secara sukarela masuk kantong fyke net sehingga modifikasi bagian-bagiannya perlu dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan efektivitas fyke net modifikasi untuk menangkap ikan target dan menganalisis hasil tangkapan terkait dengan aspek keramahan lingkungan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan uji coba penangkapan ikan menggunakan 2 tipe disain fyke net modifikasi yaitu tipe A (sayap dengan serambi) dan tipe B (sayap tanpa serambi). Jumlah individu ikan hasil tangkapan total (ekor) berbeda sangat nyata antara fyke net tipe A dan tipe B (A > 2,96*B). Berat total (gram) ikan hasil tangkapan juga berbeda sangat nyata antara tipe fyke net A dan tipe B (A > 5,19*B). Jumlah individu hasil tangkapan ikan karang target berbeda sangat nyata antara fyke net tipe A dan tipe B (A > 15,50*), demikian pula berat ikan karang hasil tangkapan berbeda sangat nyata antara tipe fyke net A dan tipe B (A > 10,56*B), akan tetapi hasil tangkapan ikan non-target antara fyke net tipe A dan B tidak menunjukkan perbedaan. Modifikasi bagian sayap fyke net dengan menambahkan serambi telah meningkatkan hasil tangkapan secara nyata baik dari segi jumlah (ekor) maupun berat (gram). Rancangan fyke net sayap dengan serambi telah meningkatkan hasil tangkapan berdasarkan jumlah individu dan berat ikan karang target namun tidak menunjukkan peningkatan secara nyata terhadap jumlah hasil tangkapan ikan non-target yang merupakan komponen tangkapan sampingan (by-cacth). Penggunakan fyke net modifikasi efektif menangkap ikan karang target dan selektif terhadap ikan non-target.
Fyke net as a passive gear is commonly operated stationary or moved in river, lake and estuarin waters. Fish to become entrapped by using net leader that guiding fish when swimming againts current
and finally move into bunt end of fyke net. Reef fish have different characteristic on fyke net interaction which was voluntary trapped on gear, then for this reason the modification of fyke net to catch reef fish is properly needed. This research is to determine effectiveness of modified fyke net on target catch of reef fish and to analyze catch of modified fike net in order to achieve friendly environmental level. This experiment was using two designs of modified fyke net (type-A of chambered wing, type-B of nonchambered wing). Both fyke nets used was simultaneously operated at 25 m distance to sample reef fish in two locations. The fyke nets fished 24 hours then repeated 7 times for each location. The result showed that the reef fish as the target catch was dominant in their weight. While, the reef fish as the non-target catch was dominant in their number. Total catch of fyke net A was significantly higher (2.96 times) than that fyke net B. Moreover, the number of reef fish as the target catch of fyke net A was significantly higher (15.50 times) than that fyke net B. The weight of reef fish as the target catch of fyke net A was significantly higher (10.56 times) than fyke net B. But, there was no significantly different between fyke net A and B on reef fish as non-target catch. Design of modified fyke nets A was effective to catch reef fish as target catch and selective to catch non-target reef fish.
