Abstract

Calcium, magnesium, and vitamin D3 are vital feed components to support shrimp growth. This study aimed to evaluate the growth performance, survival rate, and water quality culture of Pacific whiteleg shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei fed with dietary supplementation of a combination of calcium, magnesium and vitamin D3 with different dosages. The treatments in this study consisted of shrimp fed with a control diet (without supplementation of HYPEROL containing a combination of calcium, magnesium and vitamin D3) and four levels of HYPEROL supplementation, i.e., 0; 2,5 mL kg-1; 5 mL kg-1; 7,5 mL kg-1; 10 mL kg-1. Larvae were reared in the tank with a dimension of 40x25x30 cm3 containing 25 L of disinfected seawater at a stocking density of 100 larvae m-2. The present study demonstrated that dietary supplementation of HYPEROL concentrations up to 10 mL kg-1 could significantly improve the growth of Pacific whiteleg shrimp. Combination of calcium, magnesium, and vitamin D3 contained in HYPEROL has an important role in ensuring calcium balance, which affects to the growth of Pacific whiteleg shrimp.
