KONDISI LINGKUNGAN PERAIRAN TELUK MALLASORO YANG LAYAK UNTUK LOKASI PENGEMBANGAN BUDI DAYA RUMPUT LAUT (Eucheuma sp.)

Abstract


Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan lokasi yang layak bagi pengembangan budi daya rumput laut di perairan Teluk Mallasoro, Kabupaten Jeneponto, Sulawesi Selatan. Data sekunder yang diperoleh berupa data iklim, data produksi rumput laut, peta rupabumi Indonesia kawasan Jeneponto skala 1:50.000, citra digital landsat-7 ETM, dan peta batimetri skala 1:200.000. Data primer diperoleh dengan metode survai di lokasi penelitian yaitu kondisi kualitas perairan. Penentuan stasiun pengamatan dilakukan secara acak dan sistematik. Setiap lokasi pengambilan contoh ditentukan posisi koordinatnya dengan alat Global Positioning System (GPS). Data lapangan (fisikakimia perairan), data sekunder, dan data citra satelit (Landsat ETM+) digital, dianalisis secara spasial dengan metode PATTERN menggunakan Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG). Berdasarkan hasil survai dan evaluasi kelayakan budi daya rumput laut perairan Teluk Mallasoro memiliki tingkat kelayakan tinggi di sekitar tengah, timur, dan barat dari mulut teluk (297,7 ha), kelayakan sedang terdapat di sepanjang kawasan tengah teluk (403,0 ha), dan kelayakan rendah di sekitar tengah dan timur bagian dalam teluk (387,0 ha), dituangkan dalam peta prospektif skala 1:50.000.
The aim of this research is to find location which was suitable to develop seaweed culture in Mallsoro Bay, Jeneponto Regency, South Sulawesi. Secondary data such as wheather data, seaweed production data, Indonesia earth surface map of Jeneponto area scale of 1:50,000, citra landsat-7 ETM digital product, and navigation map scale 1: 200,000. The primary data (water quality) was found  with survey method in research location. Simple systematic random sampling was used to allocate sampling points.Digital Remote sensing (Landsat ETM+) data, secundary data, and field data (water quality) were analyzed using PATTERN method and Geographic Information System (GIS). Tematic map of area suitability as the main expected output of the study was made through spatial analysis and GIS as suggested by reference. The potential areas which are suitable for seaweed culture development are 1,087.7 ha, namely either for seaweed culture with high suitability (297.7 ha), moderate (403.0 ha), and low (387.0 ha) was distribution in the sea waters of Mallasoro Bay.
