Buletin Ilmiah Marina Sosial Ekonomi Kelautan dan Perikanan  is a change from the publication of Warta Riset Sosial Ekonomi Kelautan dan Perikanan which was previously published starting from vol. 1 of 2006 to vol. 5 of 2010, and the Buletin Riset Sosial Ekonomi Kelautan dan Perikanan of vol. 6 of 2011 to vol. 9 of 2014. This improvement is aimed at improving the quality of the published articles and adjustments to the guidelines for accreditation of scientific magazines from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology
