Domestikasi Ikan Mahseer (Tor soro) sebagai Strategi Konservasi Biota Endemik Sungai Tropis Indonesia

Abstract


Domestikasi ikan Mahseer (Tor soro) memberikan pendekatan konservasi untuk melindungi populasi ikan endemik sungai tropis di Indonesia yang terancam punah. Metode penelitian berupa kajian konseptual dan aplikatif yang memadukan pendekatan konservasi ex situ dan in situ dengan berbasis pada penelitian lapangan secara langsung di Lokasi Kawasan Konservasi Dusun Kalipagu Desa Ketenger Kecamatan Baturaden dan Rumah Ikan Dewa Desa Karangtengah Kecamatan Cilongok Kabupaten Banyumas. Hasil analisis menjelaskan bahwa domestikasi baik Ex Situ maupun In Situ yang dirancang dengan pendekatan ekosistem dengan mengintegrasikan pemulihan habitat, pemeliharaan genetik, dan keterlibatan komunitas lokal dapat membantu meningkatkan kelangsungan hidup biota, mampu mendukung program konservasi ex situ/in situ, dan memberikan manfaat ekonomi bagi masyarakat setempat. Rekomendasi terkait kebijakan menekankan pada pilot project terkontrol, penguatan kapasitas riset lokal, kerangka kajian hukum untuk pelepasan kembali (restocking), dan integrasi pengetahuan tradisional masyarakat.
