THE EFFECT OF INDUCING Marinobacter hydrocarbonoclasticus BACTERIA FOR GROWTH AND WATER QUALITY IMPROVEMENT OF VANAME SHRIMP (Penaeus vannamei)

Abstract


This research aims to analyze the effects of administering the bacterium Marinobacter hydrocarbonoclasticus on the growth performance and water quality improvement in the cultivation of vaname shrimp (Penaeus vannamei). The experiments consisted of two treatments (control and addition of brobiotic) with three replications, conducted in Balai Pengujian Kesehatan Ikan dan Lingkungan (BPKIL) Serang, Banten. The observed parameters included absolute weight gain, ABW, growth rate, FCR, SR, and water quality (temperature, salinity, pH, DO, ammonia, nitrite). The results showed that the treatment with probiotic addition produced higher growth values compared to the control, with an absolute weight gain (3.64 ± 0.33 g), ABW (3.74 ± 0.12 g), growth rate (0.13 ± 0.10 g.day-1), FCR (1.75 ± 0.12), and SR (79.77 ± 2.01%). The water quality conditions during the study were within the optimal range for vaname shrimp. The addition of Marinobacter hydrocarbonoclasticus improved feed efficiency and the stability of the rearing environment.
